Accurate and near-real-time precipitation estimates are great critical for monitoring and forecasting extreme precipitation events and hydrological related disasters. Targeting on the multi-channel infrared (IR) observations with finer resolutions (~ 2 km, ~ 10 min) from the latest Chinese meteorology satellite, Fengyun 4A (FY4A), this study proposed a novel framework in exploring the potentials of the observations for acquiring the rain estimations with fine quality, which characterizes in integrating Principal Component Analysis (PCA) technique, innovating a spatially dominated strategy for deciding the rain and no rain samples, and introducing an statistical distribution calibration procedure. Results of this study suggest that the framework is promising and applicable for Chinese FY series satellites in generating the rain estimations with finer quality and resolutions.
