报告人简介:Martin Gade is a senior research scientist of IfM at University of Hamburg. His main research interest is directed towards air-sea interactions and coastal processes, and their remote sensing using active microwave sensors such as scatterometers and SAR. Dr. Gade has been working on the analysis of multi-sensor SAR imagery with respect to the detection and statistical assessment of marine oil pollution, the derivation of sea surface current fields, and the routine monitoring of exposed intertidal flats. Dr. Gade has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and books, and more than 70 papers elsewhere (e.g. in conference proceedings). So far, he has edited three books published by Springer and focusing on Marine Surface Films and on Remote Sensing of the European Seas and African Seas. This lecture first provides a brief overview of several oceanic and atmospheric processes and phenomena in the marine coastal environment that can be seen on SAR imagery.
